The goal of eyelid surgery and brow lift surgery is to restore youthful fullness around the eyes.

Traditional eyelid surgery involves the removal of the protruding fat around the eyes which causes bags. When this fat is removed from the lower eyelids, it flattens the bags but it also tends to flatten the whole area below the eyes, which can produce a hollowed out, operated look. It also does not improve the groove or dark circle below the eye. Youthful eyes are quite full, while older eyes are more hollow and skeletonized. Rather than remove youthful fat, Fat-Sparing Eyelid Surgery redrapes the fat which causes the eyelid bags using it to fill the groove below the eye. When there is also aging of the upper eyelids, an Endoscopic Brow Lift rejuvenates the upper lids without the traditional scar across the scalp. It can soften an angry, tired look to the frown area, while optimizing natural eyebrow positioning avoiding a startled high brow look. At times there is a small amount of excess eyelid skin which is also trimmed either at the time of the brow lift surgery or afterwards under local anesthesia in the office.
