The below photographs are of Dr. Loomis' actual patients, but do not guarantee your results by him or other surgeons. Individual results vary.

This patient of Dr. Loomis' is shown two and a half years following a vertical scar breast reduction. Just over 460 grams of breast tissue were removed from each side. The size and shape remains stable. While we are able to significantly improve breast shape and nipple location, we generally cannot achieve upper pole fullness (rounding out the flattened upper part of the breast) without an implant.
Patient of Dr. Loomis' who was a D cup pre-operatively and who underwent a mastopexy or breast lift to elevate the nipples and create a rounder shape to the breasts. The overall size of the breasts was unchanged.
Patient of Dr. Loomis' following a mastopexy or breast lift. No breast tissue is removed and so the size of the breast does not change. The shape of the breast and the nipple position is improved.
Patient of Dr. Loomis' following a submuscular augmentation with 325 cc saline filled implants and a vertical scar breast lift. By utilizing the lift when it is needed, we can keep the implant under the chest muscle, maintaining better long term support , position and camouflage.
Patient of Dr. Loomis' who was a D cup during pregnancy and subsequently became a B cup with excess skin. She is shown following a vertical scar breast lift and submuscular placement of 300cc smooth round saline filled implants.
This patient of Dr. Loomis' had undergone a breast augmentation elsewhere above the muscle with silicone implants. She had developed significant capsules and came to Dr. Loomis to make the breasts smaller and higher. She underwent removal of the old implants and capsules, reaugmentation with saline implants beneath the muscles, and vertical breast lifts.

Breast Lift

A breast-lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to lift and reshape sagging breasts. The Lejour, or Vertical Mastopexy, is a breast lift technique which can reduce the size of the areola, and lift the nipple back up to a more central positon on the breast. With this type of lift, the breast tissue is brought in centrally to create a rounder and more conical breast shape. The second movie describes "What it was like..." to have a breast augmentation in a patients own words.

Reducing scars in breast lift surgery has been a goal in plastic surgery for years. The Vertical Lift technique significantly reduces the scars associated with breast lifts. Traditionally, both types of surgery left scars around the nipple, down the front of the breast and below the breast. The Lejour, or Vertical Lift does away with the scar below the breast. This avoids scars on the side or center of the chest where they can be seen in a swim suit or low-cut clothing. It also avoids the pain which may be associated with a heavy scar directly under the bra. The lift may be done alone, or in conjunction with an augmentation.

The Vertical Lift technique can be difficult to learn and many plastic surgeons will only use it on patients with very small reductions or lifts, and some will not use it at all. Dr. Loomis has been performing the Lejour, or Vertical Lift procedure since 1992 and is comfortable using it on all of his breast lift as well as reduction patients to obtain the benefit of fewer scars, and what he feels is an improved shape.
